Jharkhand News: In a shocking incident in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, a widow was raped and strangled to death in her home in Jagannathpur. The police have apprehended the suspect, identified as Tyre Hembram, who reportedly entered the victim's house late Friday night.
According to reports, the woman was alone in her house when the crime occurred. Around midnight, Hembram broke in and assaulted her. Following the assault, the widow threatened to identify Hembram and inform others about the crime, prompting him to strangle her to silence her.
The Jagannathpur police quickly took action, arresting Tyre Hembram, who is now facing serious charges related to the crime. Authorities confirmed that the victim had been raped and murdered. The police arrived at the scene Saturday morning, recovering the body for postmortem examination at Sadar Hospital.
In a separate but equally alarming case, an unidentified person was found murdered and discarded by the roadside leading to Lanji near Kamegada village in the Hoyohatu Panchayat area of Toklo police station. Villagers reported the grim discovery to the police on Saturday morning. Toklo police station in-charge Parameshwar Oraon and his team promptly launched an investigation into the murder. The unidentified victim bore multiple injury marks, suggesting foul play. Despite efforts to identify the individual by showing the body to nearby villagers, no one could recognize him.
The police have taken custody of the body and arranged for a postmortem at Chakradharpur sub-divisional hospital. It will be stored in the cold storage of the railway hospital for three days, during which time efforts will continue to locate the deceased’s relatives. If no family comes forward, the police will arrange for the body to be cremated.
