In a harrowing turn of events in Jharkhand, a 50-year-old woman met a violent end on Sunday, allegedly hacked to death by three men in Gumla. The woman had recently accused the two sons of her attacker of raping her 19-year-old deaf-mute daughter. The incident, which transpired in the village of Gumla, culminated in the arrest of the three suspects by the police on Monday.

How did it happen?

According to reports, the mother of the rape survivor was attacked while working in the fields. The assailants, identified as the fathers of the accused boys, carried out the brutal assault, with one of them reportedly having a longstanding feud with the victim. The two minor boys, who were implicated in the rape case, are currently held in an observation home.

Legal action against accused

The motive behind the gruesome attack appears to be linked to revenge for the legal action initiated against the sons, coupled with an ongoing land dispute involving the victim. Law enforcement authorities have recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the murder, further corroborating the evidence in the case.

Background of gruesome incident

The tragic sequence of events began on March 13 when the woman and her daughter were at home, while her elder daughter attended a wedding reception. According to the investigating officer, upon finding the house locked from the outside, the accused boys, both aged 14 years, broke the lock and asked the woman to find her elder daughter. After her departure, the boys dragged the deaf-mute to a nearby school and raped her.
