New Delhi: A shocking news has came to light from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi where a wife left her husband after becoming a lekhpal. Two years ago, the couple had a love marriage. The clerk's husband is a carpenter who supported his wife's preparation for a government job.

Marriage gone sour?

Neeraj Vishwakarma went to the Jhansi Collectorate auditorium in search for his wife Richa Soni on Wednesday. He found her there and receiving her appointment letter as a accountant. Neeraj said they met through a friend five years ago then became good friends and eventually fell in love. They got married in court on February 6, 2022. Neeraj supported Richa's preparation for a government job and even filled out her application form for the clerk positionin 2022.

How did the events unfold?

Richa qualified the exam in 2023 and their family was happy about her success. However, in January 2024, she left home saying she was going to college but never returned to home. Neeraj went to his in-laws' house, but they told him Richa didn't want to come back.

Later, Neeraj wrote a letter to the District Magistrate (DM) about his missing wife, Richa. The police found Richa a few hours later. When they asked her about her disappearance, she said she had become an accountant and her husband was just a carpenter, so now they are incompatible.

Neeraj accused Richa of refusing to talk to him and ignoring his calls. Neeraj knew that Richa was coming to collect her appointment letter on Wednesday, he went to the office and waited for her at the main gate. However, Richa left through a back gate without meeting him. Now, he has written a letter to the DM about his situation.

Last year a similar incident happened in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj where a woman named Jyoti Maurya a PCS officer and SDM was accused of leaving her first husband after passing a government exam. Her husband claimed that he had supported and funded her in studies, but she abandoned him after achieving success.
