A disturbing video has surfaced on social media, showing a shocking incident at the Jhansi District Hospital where a 60-year-old man named Gulab Khan was brutally assaulted by a ward boy. The elderly man, suffering from a severe fever, had been waiting in line for hours, hoping to receive treatment. However, after facing prolonged neglect, Khan decided to leave, lamenting that he would not receive care at the facility.

As soon as Khan attempted to leave, a ward boy confronted him, sparking a violent altercation. The ward boy not only tore Khan's treatment slip but also physically assaulted him. Khan in the video can be seen saying that the ward boy twisted his arm… slapped him… pushed him. Despite Khan's desperate pleas to be released, the ward boy continued to attack him, eventually forcing him out of the hospital premises.

Shockingly, this entire episode unfolded in full view of the doctors and other healthcare workers present, yet none intervened to stop the assault. The video has since gone viral, drawing widespread condemnation and raising serious concerns about patient safety and the conduct of hospital staff.

In response to the outcry, the Chief Medical Officer Jhansi has vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the incident. "Such behavior is unacceptable, and we will ensure that those involved are held accountable," the CMO stated according to the social media post.

Apart from this, taking cognizance of the video received, a case has been registered at the police station under relevant sections and further legal action is being taken.

This incident highlights a severe lapse in the administration and raises questions about the safety of patients in government hospitals. With hooliganism seemingly unchecked, patients may now be even more fearful of seeking treatment at these facilities.
