Raksha Bandhan celebrations were hosted in the headquarters of the 2 Signal Training Centre of the Army on Wednesday. To show gratitude to the army jawans several people attended the event. Women and children especially joined the celebrations and congratulated the brave soldiers at the Bambolim Army Camp.

The teachers and students performed aarti and also tied rakhis on the wrists of Agniveers. They appreciated the soldiers for their bravery and thanked them for protecting the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country.

“Rakhi transcends age, profession, and gender, and a soldier’s service underscores the commitment to uphold the security and unity in society,” said a student.

A teacher also commented on the positive impact events like this create on the students. She said, “Such an event not only enriches students’ lives but also instills profound respect for those who safeguard the nation.” In another celebration of Rakhi women and children tied rakhis to Soldiers of the 5 Technical Training Regiment at Bambolim.

LoC’s unique Rakhi custom

Women in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla also prepared rakhi for the Jawans ahead of Raksha Bandhan. There is a practice in Churanda village in the Uri sector on the Line of Control (LoC) where they celebrate the eternal sibling bond with Army Jawans by tying them Rakhis on Raksha Bandhan.

“This is our expression of brotherly love towards the soldiers, who always at hand to help, support, and protect us. They celebrate Eid with us. We are here to acknowledge their services and celebrate Raksha Bandhan,” said one of the women who participated in the event.

Celebrations are in full swing as India celebrates Raksha Bandhan. Friends and family have come together to tie each other to Rakhi bands and pray for their protection. In such a festive mood we must not forget our Jawans who are stationed far away from their family protecting us at borders.
