New Delhi: A scene of chaos erupted near the civil court in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday when a Hindu girl arrived dressed in a burqa to marry a Muslim boy. The couple had come to the court to formalize their marriage, but the situation quickly escalated as local residents became aware of the interfaith union and began protesting.

Incident at Jaunpur Court sparks commotion

The incident took place in the Khuthan police station area, and the appearance of the Hindu girl wearing a burqa raised tensions. Local individuals who witnessed the situation started creating a ruckus, objecting to the marriage.

The information about the incident was posted by on X by a user named Manoj Sharma. He wrote in Hindi, "A Hindu girl wearing a burqa reached the court to marry a Muslim boy, (which causes) commotion near the civil court!! There was a ruckus near the civil court of UP's Jaunpur on Saturday when a Hindu girl arrived wearing a burqa to marry a Muslim boy in court. As soon as some local people came to know about this, they started creating ruckus, this incident is being reported from Khuthan police station area of ​​Jaunpur. Due to the commotion, the police had to intervene and both of them were taken into police custody for safety!! Officials said immediate action was taken to control the situation and further investigation is underway."

With the situation spiraling out of control, the police were called in to restore order. Both the Hindu girl and the Muslim boy were taken into police custody to ensure their safety amidst the rising tension.

Officials reported that immediate action was taken to bring the situation under control, and a further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
