Jammu and Kashmir: Army officer sacrifices life in Kishtwar encounter, two militants eliminated

Jammu and Kashmir: Security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir are going through a tough phase, wherein attempts at infiltration from Pakistan are ongoing, while on the other side, there have been great successes in big operations against terror outfits too. Both these events have not only created issues regarding the security of the region but also regarding the efforts on the part of the security forces to project their tough stance and bravery.

Pakistani intruders' encounter in Akhnoor

One Army officer was seriously injured when security forces clashed with Pakistani intruders in Jammu and Kashmir's Akhnoor sector. During the encounter, security forces boxed in a team of Pakistani intruders resulting in intense exchanges of fire between the two parties. The officer was taken into hospital for treatment but died from his injuries. The incident is another reminder to Jammu and Kashmir that there are persistent attempts at infiltration from Pakistan along the border, and security forces must remain vigilant at all times.

Two terrorists eliminated in Kishtwar, one of its top commanders eliminated

Two terrorists were eliminated in a shootout with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, police informed on Saturday. The terrorists were from the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group.

The operation also eliminated a prominent militant commander Saifullah, who was very active in Chenab Valley areas for the last one year. These terrorists had taken shelter in the snow-laden areas of Jammu and Kashmir and they were discovered by the army. Among the militants killed was yet another terrorist, who was slain yesterday.

As per security troops, the raid was one of a series of operations in Basantgarh and Ramnagar sectors of Udhampur district in which a team of three more terrorists were to be arrested. Ongoing search operations are in progress by security troops in these sectors and several terrorists have been attacked so far in the action.

These reports confirm that surveillance and face-off of security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir is on the rise day by day. The military is utilizing all its force to prevent the intrusion attempts from both sides of the border. In parallel, there is steady success in operations launched against the terrorists. Even though the strife is extremely tough and risky, security personnel are making efforts so that peace and safety is retained in the valley with these operations
