New Delhi: In a strategic move to counter rising terrorism in Jammu, the Indian Army has deployed approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos. According to media reports, these elite units are on the ground ith the aim of hunting down an estimated 50-55 highly trained terrorists from Pakistan who have infiltrated the region.
In response to the infiltration, the Indian Army is readjusting its deployments based on intelligence inputs and security needs. Defense sources confirmed to news agency ANI that this redeployment aims to effectively counter the threat posed by these terrorists.
Intelligence agencies have intensified their efforts to dismantle the support infrastructure aiding these terrorists, including overground workers. The Indian Army has already reinforced its presence with a brigade of 3,500-4,000 personnel to combat Pakistan's proxy warfare in the region.
Senior Army officials on the ground are devising strategies to locate and eliminate the terrorists, who are reportedly armed with advanced weaponry and communication gear. The Army's existing counter-terrorism framework in the area includes the Rashtriya Rifles' Romeo and Delta forces, alongside regular infantry divisions, ensuring a robust response to the threat.
This significant deployment highlights the Indian Army's commitment to safeguarding the Jammu region from external aggression. The combined efforts of the Para Special Forces and intelligence agencies are expected to dismantle the terrorist network and restore peace in the area.
