Jammu and Kashmir police busts terror module in Baramulla; Arrests three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists

According to a police spokesperson, intelligence reports revealed that unidentified terrorists linked to the banned LeT organization were observed moving within Baramulla town.

Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district arrested three terror associates linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit, officials confirmed on Thursday. They revealed that during the arrest, authorities also seized three hand grenades from the individuals.

According to a police spokesperson, the arrests were made based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of unidentified terrorists associated with the banned LeT organization in Baramulla town. The suspects were believed to have intentions of disrupting peace, especially with the upcoming polls in mind.

The three arrested individuals were identified as Owais Ahmad Waza, Basit Fayaz Kaloo, and Faheem Ahmad Mir. The police spokesperson mentioned that they were allegedly involved in providing information regarding the movements of security forces in the region.

Following their arrest, a case was registered against them under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), reflecting the seriousness of their alleged involvement with the LeT outfit.
