External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar underlined the newfound confidence among Indians venturing abroad for work opportunities. Speaking at an event in Seoul, the minister emphasized that the current administration instills a sense of assurance in departing Indians, assuring them of governmental support even beyond the nation's borders. Jaishankar pointed out the distinctive confidence observed in the Indian diaspora, stating, "Whatever happens out there, there is a government that will look after them."

The minister's remarks carry notable significance, given the government's proactive efforts to repatriate stranded Indians from conflict-ridden regions, notably during the Ukraine-Russia conflict in 2022. Thousands of Indians found themselves stranded in various parts of Ukraine following Russia's invasion, and the government took decisive steps to bring them back home. Jaishankar lauded the Indian diaspora for its pivotal role in strengthening India's diplomatic ties with other nations.

Highlighting the diverse composition of those leaving the country, Jaishankar acknowledged the spectrum from students and blue-collar workers to professionals sought after by global companies. He stressed the government's commitment to instilling confidence in these individuals, emphasizing the decade-long progress that has solidified the belief that they will be cared for by their home country. The minister eloquently expressed, "So we have to give them that confidence. And we have shown in 10 years today."

Jaishankar also touched upon the domestic scenario, acknowledging that the choices and progress made within the country significantly influence those leaving for opportunities abroad. He concluded on an optimistic note, expressing confidence in the current trajectory under the right leadership, asserting that India is ascending globally.
