Ahead of Valentine’s Day, a controversial poster has stirred a heated debate in Patna, Bihar. The poster, which has left many shocked, carries a strong message, attracting attention across the city.

During Valentine’s Week, couples typically express their love and share special moments. However, the Hindu Shivbhavani Sena, a local organization, has put up posters across Patna, warning those celebrating Valentine’s Day. The posters contain an alarming message that reads, "Wherever we find Babu-Sona, we will break every corner!" This harsh statement warns against celebrating Valentine’s Day, describing it as unfit for Indian culture. It even goes as far as threatening physical violence, including the use of sticks, against those celebrating the day.

Organization threatens action against Valentine's celebrants

Members of the Hindu Shivbhavani Sena have made it clear that any acts of obscenity, nudity, forced conversions, or ‘love jihad’ will not be tolerated. The group announced that it will form squads to monitor the city, taking strong measures to prevent any Valentine’s Day celebrations. Additionally, the group argues that February 14, the day of Valentine’s Day, marks the Pulwama attack anniversary and should be reserved for honoring martyrs instead of celebrating love.

Political backlash and protests

The controversial posters have drawn sharp criticism from political parties, with the RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) voicing its strong opposition. RJD spokesperson Ejaz Ahmed expressed anger, accusing the BJP and its affiliated organizations of promoting hate politics. He stated, “They are conspiring to destroy love and brotherhood in society. These groups only aim to divide, not unite.”

Tensions rise in Patna as authorities ramp up security

The controversy has fueled rising tensions in Patna, prompting local authorities to stay alert. The police have strengthened security across the city to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure public safety during this sensitive time.
