Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of AP, has met with Home Minister Amit Shah and urged him to tackle various long-standing concerns that have arisen following the states partition.This is Mr Reddys second stop in Delhi in less than a month. Earlier this month, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah on March 17.Major demands of the Chief MinisterThe Chief Minister requested that the Home Minister may swiftly allocate ₹ 10,000 crores on an ad-hoc basis to speed up the Polavaram project after noting that the unresolved difficulties had caused Andhra Pradesh to regress in terms of revenue and development.Further, he sought ₹ 2,020 crores to repair the scourge pits developed at the major dam site as a result of the diaphragm being washed away in flash floods, according to a statement issued on Wednesday night.In the meeting, Mr Reddy requested repayment for the 2,601 crores spent on the Polavaram project and agreed to the technical advisory committees revised estimates of ₹ 55,548 crore, which included the drinking water supply component.Mr Shah was informed of the states financial strain of ₹ 5,527 crore spent in distributing rations to 56 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) due to absurd beneficiary selection through the National Food Security Act. For compensating this, the Chief Minister said that the state would be paid by unused ration stocks, as suggested by the Niti Aayog.Mr Reddy requested that the Centre provide the pending sum of ₹ 36,625 under resource gap funding for the fiscal year 2014-15 and increase the credit limit of ₹ 17,923 crore, which had been reduced from ₹ 42,472 crores following the pandemic.
