J-K News: In a major breakthrough, three terror associates have been arrested in connection to a grenade attack in Srinagar that left 12 civilians injured. The attack, which took place on Sunday, targeted security forces, but the grenades exploded near a paramilitary vehicle, harming innocent bystanders instead. The police have identified the arrested individuals as Usama Yasin Sheikh, Umar Fayaz Sheikh, and Afnan Mansoor Sheikh, all of whom hail from the Ikhrajpora area of Srinagar.Police Reveal Terrorist Links to Pakistan-Based HandlersAccording to Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V K Birdi, the attack was orchestrated by handlers based in Pakistan, with the goal of disturbing peace and stability in the region. The police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against the trio.The arrested persons have been identified as Usama Yasin Sheikh, Umar Fayaz Sheikh, and Afnan Mansoor Sheikh. All three belong to the Ikhrajpora area of the city, said Birdi, confirming that the police have successfully solved the case with these arrests.Attack on Flea Market Sparks ConcernsThe grenade attack occurred on a flyover near a weekly flea market in Srinagar, where the terrorists targeted security forces. However, the grenades missed their intended target and exploded near a paramilitary vehicle, injuring 12 civilians. The attack occurred amid rising tensions and a series of terror strikes in Jammu and Kashmir following the recent formation of the first elected government since the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.Political Leaders React to the AttackLieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the attack and directed the security forces to take swift action.
