J&K Candlelight March: In Jammu and Kashmir, local residents on Tuesday took out a candlelight march to express their solidarity towards tourists killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The killing of innocent people in this attack was termed as extremely condemnable by the local people.PDP leader Mir Mohammad Fayaz from Kupwara vehemently condemned the attack, terming it a cowardly act. He also said that these criminals are not related to any religion, but it is a murder of humanity. These criminals should get the harshest punishment.
Local people took out a candlelight march in Badro, Srinagar, Poonch and Kupwara to mourn the attack. Bajrang Dal activists in Jammu also protested against the attack. A tourist from Nagpur in Maharashtra said that he was at the same place when the attackers attacked. He said, "We kept listening to the sound of firing for a long time and everyone was trying to run away from there. We were running away without looking back because our priority was just to go away from there."
Security has been tightened after this terrorist attack in Delhi. According to Delhi Police sources, instructions have been given to the Delhi Police to keep a close watch on tourist places and other important places.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. The Prime Minister tweeted that those responsible for this heinous act would be brought under the purview of justice. He expressed deep condolences to those who lost their families in the attack.
These attacks have caused a deep condolences and resentment not only in Jammu and Kashmir, but all over the country. This is the time when everyone should unite and raise their voice against terrorism, so that it can help prevent such incidents.
