Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday has shared the fresh images of Moon and Earth taken by lander ‘Vikram’ of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft. Notably, the spacecraft entered in the orbit of Moon August 5 and is expected to launch on August 23. The spacecraft is only a fortnight away from the Moon.
Taking it to Twitter, ISRO tweeted, “🌎 viewed by Lander Imager (LI) Camera on the day of the launch & 🌖 imaged by Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) a day after the Lunar Orbit Insertion LI & LHV cameras are developed by SAC & LEOS, respectively.”
In addition to this, the organisation has also shared a press release about some of frequently asked questions about the assessment. Tweet reads, “While Chandrayaan-3 is orbiting around the moon,
– What is the Current Space Situation around the moon?
– How the objects around the moon are tracked?
– Are there chances of close approaches?
are some of the interesting questions. Here is an assessment by ISRO System for Safe & Sustainable Operations Management (IS4OM)”
A couple of days back the chairman of ISRO S Somanath said, “If everything fails, if all the sensors fail, nothing works, still it (Vikram) will make a landing. That’s how it has been designed – provided that the propulsion system works well.”
