New Delhi: A deeply disturbing incident has come to light in Kalyan, Thane district of Maharashtra, where a two-year-old girl was kidnapped and brutally raped. The crime has sparked widespread anger and horror across the city.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when the young girl was playing near her home. The accused lured the child away from her house by offering her chocolate and took her to a deserted area outside the village. It was in this isolated location that the heinous crime was committed. The accused then fled, leaving the child in distress.
Upon returning home, the girl was found crying inconsolably. Her concerned parents rushed her to the nearest hospital, where it was confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted. Devastated, the parents immediately reported the crime to the Titwala police station.
Following the complaint, the police swiftly arrested the accused on Saturday. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. The accused was produced in court and has been remanded to police custody until September 6, as the investigation continues.
This shocking crime has led to widespread demands for justice, highlighting the urgent need for stricter protections for children.
