Is Delhi safe? Ice cream vendor fatally stabbed at India Gate after fight over money

A case has been filed under section 302. At present the police is scanning the CCTV cameras installed nearby. On the basis of CCTV footage, action will be taken after identifying the accused.

A grim turn of events unfolded late Wednesday evening near India Gate in Delhi as a 25-year-old ice cream vendor named Prabhakar was fatally stabbed during a brawl.  The police have kept the body safe in the mortuary for post-mortem. The police kept searching for the accused till late night by scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident site. 

Victim declared dead

According to sources, the deceased youth has been identified as Prabhat. The police had received a PCR call about Prabhat being stabbed at around 10.15 pm. Police immediately reached the spot. Prabhat was lying on the road in a blood soaked condition. He was immediately admitted to the nearby Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Where, the doctors declared Prabhat dead.

Fight over money dispute

The police have informed his family members about the incident. Top police officials reached the spot and took information about the matter. The people present there told that Prabhat used to sell ice cream for a long time, suddenly some people came late at night and first there was a fight over money dispute and then they stabbed him and ran away.

Police action in this matter 

A case has been filed under section 302. At present the police is scanning the CCTV cameras installed nearby. On the basis of CCTV footage, action will be taken after identifying the accused. At present, the police have formed 9 teams to arrest the accused, the police is investigating the entire matter.
