An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer has been apprehended by the Delhi Police on charges of stalking and sexually harassing an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, according to authorities. The victim claimed that the accused made contact with her while she was involved in a Covid-19 support group in 2020.

A complaint has been filed at Parliament Street Police Station under sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354-D (Stalking), and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim claimed that she had been in contact with the IAS officer while participating in a Covid-19 support group in 2020.

The victim accused the officer of repeatedly attempting to establish a closer relationship with her, despite her consistent rejections. She stated that when her husband became aware of the situation, he confronted the accused and urged him to change his behaviour.

The victim also claimed that the accused continued to harass her by sending unwanted messages and pressuring her to meet him. Additionally, an official reported that the accused visited the victim at her workplace and attempted to intimidate her into entering a relationship with him.
