Instagram friend records, blackmails minor with private VIDEOS; Rapes her for days

Crime News: A shocking incident of rape involving a minor girl has emerged in Thane district of Maharashtra. A  24-year-old suspect committed this crime after befriending the victim on social media. The police have filed an FIR against him and initiated an investigation.

Accused blackmailed her for 33 months

According to reports, the suspect and the victim, who reside in the same building in the Badlapur area of the district, became friends on Instagram in 2021. The suspect allegedly raped the victim multiple times and took inappropriate pictures between October 2021 and June 2024. 

An official from Badlapur police station stated that the suspect blackmailed and threatened her to share these explicit photos on social media, thus continuously exploiting her. Overwhelmed by this ordeal, the victim eventually confided in everything. 

Family supports victim

The victim's family took her to the Badlapur police station. Based on her written complaint, the police have filed a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act. The investigation of this case is ongoing.

Similar incident in past 

A few days ago, an incident in Thane came to light where a woman's obscene videos surfaced on social media. A 29-year-old man was accused of this crime. After their breakup, he shared his live-in partner's obscene videos and photos on a social messaging app.

The accused was charged after a complaint by a 47-year-old woman. The accused, Kiran Bagraw, from Shahpur in Thane district. In her complaint, the woman said she was in a live-in relationship with the accused. He had also taken gold jewelry from her.

One time, while she was bathing, the accused recorded a video of her. When she refused to continue the live-in relationship, he made the video viral on WhatsApp. The accused and the woman lived together from last year until January this year.
