A troubling case has emerged in Dehradun, reminiscent of movie The Kerala Story. A law student accused her close friend of severe misconduct, alleging that the friend lured her into a relationship only to exploit her later.The accused, identified as a Muslim student from the same college, reportedly took private photos of the victim without her consent. She then used these photos to blackmail the victim, threatening to disseminate them on social media, which led to significant harassment. This alarming incident prompted the police to register a case and launch an investigation.Pressure to Convert and MarryThe victim further alleged that her friend attempted to force her into religious conversion. Additionally, the accused pressured her to marry a Muslim man from her community. Kundan Ram, the station in-charge of Raipur police, reported on Tuesday that the victim, a resident of Rajpur, had filed a complaint detailing the coercion. She stated that both she and the accused, Mubina Yusuf from Anantnag, were third-year law students at the same college.Coercion and ThreatsThe complaint detailed that during their time together, the accused took private photos of the victim and began discussing her religion, gradually pressuring her to convert. The victim was also coerced into considering marriage with a man from the accuseds community, with promises of financial incentives. Upon resisting, the victim claimed that her friend threatened to make her private photos public and even involved criminals to intimidate her with threats to her life.The police have commenced a thorough investigation into the allegations to uncover the truth and take necessary actions.
