Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video on Monday encapsulating the momentous inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, saying the landmark day "will be etched in our memories."

The 3-minute video shows PM Modi participating in the consecration ceremony, taking blessings from the new Ram Lalla idol and showering flower petals on the temple construction workers.

"What we saw in Ayodhya yesterday, 22nd January, will be etched in our memories for years to come," PM Modi captioned the clip shared on his X account.

What’s in the video: 

The video captures Sadhvi Ritambhara, a key figure in the temple movement, getting emotional during the rituals. It also shows Modi addressing the 7,000 dignitaries attending the inauguration.

"Our Ram has arrived after centuries of anticipation," Modi says in the video, hailing the grand temple for Lord Ram.

Earlier, the prime minister described January 22 as not just another date, but the beginning of a new era. He said it marked the consecration of unwavering faith in Indian culture embodied by Lord Ram.

"Ram Lalla will no longer reside in a tent. Our Ram Lalla will now reside in this divine temple," Modi told the gathering during the momentous occasion.

PM Modi also emphasized that the inauguration lays the foundation for India's next thousand years of progress.
