A Bengaluru woman has reported to the police that she was forced to strip off during a video call after being duped by several individuals. She was also allegedly defrauded of Rs 10 lakh by the con artists.

The woman, a lawyer by profession, filed a complaint alleging that on April 5, she received calls from individuals posing as Mumbai customs department inspectors.

According to the woman's complaint, the scammers urged her to strip on a video chat for a "narcotics" test and stated that a parcel containing drugs was being sent in her name from Singapore. The whole episode continued for two days following which they started blackmailing the woman that they would leak the video on social media if she did not transfer Rs 10 lakh to their account.

Getting afraid, the woman transferred the amount she was asked for. After which she lodged a complaint with the police on April 7. Police have registered a case under the IT Act and relevant sections of the IPC relating to extortion and cheating and have initiated the investigation.
