New Delhi: A viral video of a young social media influencer walking through a posh neighborhood of Indore wearing a bra has stirred controversy across the city. The incident gained attention when Kailash Vijayvargiya, a prominent BJP leader and the Minister of Urban Administration in Madhya Pradesh, voiced his disapproval. Vijayvargiya’s sharp remarks have reignited discussions around societal values, individual freedoms, and public decency.
The video, which shows the woman strolling through a well-known part of the city in revealing clothing, quickly went viral on social media. Many netizens criticized the young woman’s attire, with some commenting that such behaviour is inappropriate for a city like Indore, which is known for its cultural heritage.

Reacting to the video, Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed his strong displeasure, calling for action from both society and the authorities. He said, “Indore is a city of cultural significance, and such acts of indecency should not happen here. Our country grants everyone freedom in how they dress, eat, and live, but this should not lead to a misuse of fundamental rights. Such behaviour is an example of that misuse.”
Vijayvargiya went on to suggest that individuals engaging in such activities should be ostracized by society. He added that women's organizations have submitted a memorandum to the police commissioner demanding action, and the administration must take a firm stance on the issue. "The administration should act strictly in such cases, and society should ensure that such individuals are boycotted," he emphasized.

Following the viral video, local police have launched an investigation into the matter. Several Hindu organizations also lodged complaints regarding the indecent nature of the video. Additional DCP Ram Snehi Mishra confirmed that the police are conducting a thorough inquiry and are in the process of locating the young woman involved. Mishra stated, “We are working on identifying the woman’s residence and will take appropriate action based on our findings.”
In response to the uproar caused by the video, the woman in question posted a follow-up video on social media. She defended her actions, stating, “I understand that the outfit wasn’t typical, but many girls wear such clothing. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. I look the way I do, and I uploaded the video accordingly.”
The woman also dismissed the controversy surrounding her video, claiming that it doesn’t bother her. She added, “I’m aware of the comments people are making, but I will continue to trend. I’ll probably appear on more channels in the coming days, and I have no issue with that. Anyone who has filed a complaint can come and meet me directly.”
However, as the controversy grew, the influencer eventually posted another video in which she issued an apology. She acknowledged her mistake and promised not to repeat such behaviour in the future. In the video, she stated that it wasn’t her intention to hurt anyone’s feelings. Disturbingly, she also mentioned feeling so overwhelmed by the backlash that she had considered taking her own life.
