Indore woman takes her life after argument with husband; Horrific video surfaces

Crime News: A tragic incident unfolded in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where a 30-year-old woman ended her life by jumping from the third floor of a building following a quarrel with her husband. The event, which occurred on Sunday evening, was captured on a mobile phone by a bystander and has since gone viral on social media. 

Details of the incident

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarendra Singh, the woman, identified as Angoori Bai, lived in the Singapore Township of the Lasudiya police station area. She was a mother of two and worked as a caretaker in a school. Angoori Bai reportedly had frequent arguments with her husband. On the evening of the incident, the couple had a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation. In distress, Angoori Bai climbed onto the roof of their home.

Attempts to prevent tragedy

Once on the roof, Angoori Bai threatened to jump. Despite attempts by her husband and neighbors to calm her down, she refused to be persuaded. Tragically, when her husband attempted to approach her, she jumped from the water tank and died instantly. The police arrived at the scene soon after being alerted to the incident.

The authorities have taken Angoori Bai’s body for a postmortem examination and are conducting a detailed investigation. They are questioning her husband, Rahul Lodhi, and neighbors to understand the circumstances leading to this tragic event. The police are also reviewing the video footage to uncover the reasons behind her drastic decision. The woman's parents have been notified of her death.

Similar incidents in past

This incident is reminiscent of another tragedy in Indore in June when a woman named Surabhi Jain, employed as a manager at a private firm, took her own life following a marital dispute. She had been living alone due to ongoing conflicts with her husband, which led to mental distress. Surabhi jumped from the 37th floor of her apartment, leaving a message for her father that read, "I am sorry papa." Her father, Ashok Jain, confirmed that Surabhi was undergoing mental health treatment.
