New Delhi: A man with a criminal history was arrested on Monday, a day after he allegedly assaulted a tribal youth and forced him to tie his shoelaces during a roadside altercation in Indore. The incident, which took place on Sunday morning, was captured on CCTV and has since sparked outrage.

The accused, identified as Ritesh Rajput, reportedly attacked the young man over a driving dispute in the Bhanwarkuan area, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Yadav. Rajput, who has a record of at least ten previous cases related to loot and assault, was quickly apprehended after the video of the incident went viral.

Charges filed under multiple acts

Following the attack, a new case was registered against Rajput under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The police moved swiftly to address the situation, given the severity of the crime and the public outrage it caused.
