In the span of 24 hours, the Indian Army encountered its second major security breach, countering a terrorist attack on an army picket in a remote village of Rajouri. The incident unfolded early Monday when terrorists initiated gunfire at an army company stationed in the village of Gunda area, Rajouri district. Swift retaliation from security personnel ensued, escalating into a fierce exchange of fire.
Following the skirmish, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and initiated a comprehensive search operation. The operation, spearheaded by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit of the Romeo Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was prompted by the assault on a newly established military camp.
