Gujarat News: In a truly unique and heartfelt ceremony, a farmer’s family in Gujarat’s Amreli district recently held an elaborate event to bid farewell to their beloved car, a 12-year-old Wagon R. Viral on social media, the video shows the family of Polara, a businessman from Surat, performing Hindu rituals to commemorate the vehicle, which they credit with bringing prosperity and respect to their lives. The family decided to honor their car with a "samadhi," or symbolic burial, on their farm.

Grand Rituals and Floral Tributes Mark the Burial

To honor their cherished vehicle, Polara and his family adorned the car with flowers and garlands before transporting it to their farm. There, a slope leading to a 15-foot-deep pit had been prepared. The family placed the car at the bottom, covering it with a green cloth as part of a farewell ritual. Surrounded by friends, family, and religious leaders, they showered the car with rose petals, while priests chanted sacred mantras. The ceremony concluded with an excavator filling the pit, giving the car a permanent resting place on their land.

An Unconventional Tribute to a Symbol of Prosperity

Polara shared with reporters the special significance the car held for him, saying, “I bought this car nearly 12 years ago, and it brought prosperity to the family. Apart from seeing success in business, my family also gained respect. The vehicle proved lucky for my family and me. Hence, instead of selling it, I gave it a samadhi at my farm as a tribute.” Spending Rs 4 lakh on the ceremony, Polara viewed this event as a meaningful act to remind future generations of the car’s importance in their family history.

Planting a Tree at the Burial Site

In addition to the burial, Polara plans to plant a tree at the site, symbolizing a living memory for future generations. The family hopes that the tree will serve as a reminder of the car and its significance, lying beneath as a legacy for years to come. Polara’s tribute drew a substantial gathering, with nearly 1,500 people attending the event.

Following the ceremony, the family hosted a grand feast, reinforcing the community’s support for their symbolic gesture. The gathering also featured the presence of local seers and religious leaders, who performed blessings and rituals to honor the unique ceremony.
