Senior AAP leader and Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha announced that INDIA, the opposition alliance will move no confidence motion on Wednesday, the fifth day of the monsoon session in the parliament.

Taking it to Twitter, Chadha mentioned, “Manipur is burning, and there are growing concerns that the instability could potentially spread to other states in the Northeast region. In response to the situation, INDIA is bringing a no-confidence motion against the ruling BJP-led central government in the Lok Sabha today.”

“Regardless of the motion’s outcome, its purpose is to achieve the following objectives:

1. The BJP doesn’t want the Parliament to function, but INDIA does. The no-confidence motion will stop the BJP-led government from evading accountability and will compel it to allow the Parliament to function

2. Initiate a long-duration discussion on the prevailing situation in Manipur and the Northeast region

3. Compel the government to address the concerns of the people

4. Traditionally and conventionally, a no-confidence motion serves as an instrument to compel the Prime Minister to address the issue raised,” he added.

He also added that “The no-confidence motion is a legitimate parliamentary mechanism to hold the government accountable and prompt it to address critical matters affecting the nation. By utilizing this instrument, INDIA seeks to emphasize the urgency of the situation and ensure accountability from the ruling government. Regardless of the outcome of the motion, such legitimate parliamentary instruments strengthen our democracy.”

It is to be noted here that the opposition parties are protesting and sloganeering outside parliament demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak on the current situation in Manipur.

What is stopping them from giving answers on Manipur?

In a string of tweets, Raghav Chadha mentioned that they have filed a question to solicit to an answer from minister. The message reads, “I had filed a question to solicit an answer from the Ministry of Home Affairs over Manipur Violence. My question was rejected on the ground that it is not primarily the concern of the Government of India and it on a matter which is under adjudication by a court of law. This exposes the real face of BJP. Is Manipur not a responsibility of Central Government?”

“How can they drag their feet on the issue of manipur Violence and deny their responsibility under Article 355? Also, if sub judice matters can’t be discussed, how can you bring an illegal ordinance on Delhi? This reply by the government exposes the fake claims of peace and security. What is stopping them from giving answers on Manipur?” he added.

Here’s what Kapil Sibal said

Meanwhile, Kapil Sibal, Rajya Sabha MP, said “If PM or government doesn’t have the confidence to come to the House and make a statement about Manipur, how can India have any confidence in them,” says Rajya Sabha MP @KapilSibal on the opposition moving a no-confidence motion in the Parliament over Manipur crisis.”
