A shocking case of greediness has surfaced after the investigation into the death of an 82-year-old man in a hit-and-run has been uncovered. A murder conspiracy has been unearthed in the hit-and-run case which was allegedly hatched by a daughter-in-law for the family property worth Rs 300 crore.

The incident came to light when Archana Manish Puttewar, the assistant director in the planning department of the town got arrested, after almost 15 days after her father-in-law was run over by a speeding car in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.

Shocking revelations

According to the police officials, Puttewar hired people to create a scene of hit and run and spent Rs 1 crore on that. It has been revealed that she asked the accused to buy a second-hand car to knock down her father-in-law so the murder looks like an accident. She did a conspiracy to get control of his property worth Rs 300 crore.

The police also revealed that the driver of her husband and two more accused were involved in the conspiracy and allegedly plotted the murder. Puttewar's driver Badge, Neeraj Nimje and Sachin Dharmik have been charged with the murder and other sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act.

Meanwhile, the police seized two cars, gold jewelery and mobile phones. The police investigation found that the 82-year-old was going to meet his wife who recently went through surgery in the hospital.

As the investigation uncovered, police also found irregularities at her workplace. There were several complaints against her but no action was taken owing to her political connections. As she is involved in deep irregularities, the investigation may go in-depth.

Meanwhile, Nagpur Police Commission has revealed that the property is worth Rs 20-22 crore, not Rs 300 crore. The court has remanded Archana Manish Puttewar to judicial custody.
