New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rainfall across several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh (UP), and Punjab for Tuesday, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The weather outlook extends to the western Himalayan region and northwest India until Wednesday, predicting intense spells of rainfall and snowfall.

Predictions by IMD

According to the IMD, there will be widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, coupled with thunderstorms and lightning, over the western Himalayan region until February 2024. Specifically, heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected in isolated areas of Jammu-Kashmir Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on February 20th, 2024.

Regional forecast

  • Delhi: Tuesday will witness a cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers in certain areas. On February 21st, the IMD predicts a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain or drizzle.
  • Other States: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab are also expected to experience heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with heavy precipitation anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir as well.
