A heavy rainfall has been predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for some regions of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on September 16 and 17.

The department has also informed about the amount of rainfall it had received. Multiple areas in East Madhya Pradesh witnessed significant rainfall in the past 24 hours. Barghat and Paraswada received 24 cm each, Waraseoni 21 cm, Lakhnadon 17 cm and Kurai recorded 17 cm of rainfall each.

Apart from this, an alert has also been issued for Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and some regions of Gujarat.

In addition to this, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in various areas of Maharashtra till 15 and 17 September. The department has also issued an advisory for the public and have requested them to take weather related precautions and avoid going to water logged, unpaved roads and areas with heavy traffic.

Heavy rainfall is likely over various areas in Andaman and Nicobar, Gujarat and Rajasthan till September 17.
