The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for August 26, forecasting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next 2-3 days in several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa. The weather system is expected to bring torrential rainfall and possible flooding to these regions.

The IMD also highlighted another low-pressure area situated over Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal, which is anticipated to strengthen and shift towards West Bengal, north Odisha, and Jharkhand within the next two days. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecast for Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand during this period.
