Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has declared the JEE Advance 2024 results. This year, IIT Delhi zone's Ved Lahoti has topped the examinations with a stellar score of 355 marks out of 360. Around 48,248 candidates have qualified for the exams becoming eligible for admission to IITs. The results are available on their website jeeadv.ac.in for the students to download their login credentials.
After completing his Class 10, Ved landed in Kota with a dream to secure a seat in the country's top engineering college, IIT. He had been an academic prodigy since the beginning of his educational journey. He has several recognitions in his name achieving Rank 1 at IIT Kanpur’s Techkriti-2020-21, International Olympiad of English Language (IOEL) – Noteworthy achievements (2023-24), International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) – Gold Medal, Ved came to Kota after finishing his Class 10 to get into IIT, the best engineering college in the nation. From the start of his schooling, he had been a mathematical prodigy. He holds multiple accolades, including the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) - International Rank 1 (2020–21), the International Olympiad of English Language (IOEL) - Noteworthy achievements (2023–24), the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) – Gold Medal, and many more. He also achieved Rank 1 at IIT Kanpur's Techkriti (2020–21).
Ved Lahoti is extremely fond of mathematics. He said in an interview with a leading coaching institute that he loves solving problems so much that he dedicates more time to physics and maths problems than any other subjects.
Talking about his success mantra, Ved said, "Your hard work should also be of the same level. Have faith in your hard work. If you have worked hard according to your target, then you will be successful. It is important to do as much practice as possible to learn." He has been a dedicated student trying to clinch AIR 1 for the last seven years. He never stuck to a fixed schedule, keeping it flexible to adjust it as per his class routine but one thing that he has always emphasised included never compromising on eight hours of sleep which is extremely important for body and mind.
The real motivation behind Ved's endeavours is her mother Jaya Lahoti and his maternal grandfather, R.C. Somani. Ved shared that whenever he had difficulty or felt ashtray he talked to these two important figures of his life and implemented their advise to overcome tough situations.
Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel of IIT Bombay zone is the top-ranked female candidate with 322 out of 360 marks, according to IIT Madras, which administered the exam this time. She has been ranked 7 overall in India. Other top ten performing candidates name include candidates in top 10 are: Aditya (IIT Delhi zone), Bhogalpalli Sandesh (IIT Madras zone), Rhythm Kedia (IIT Roorkee zone), Putti Kushal Kumar (IIT Maadras), Rajdeep Mishra (IIT Bombay zone), Koduri Tejeswar (IIT Madras zone), Dhruvi Hemant Doshi (IIT Bombay zone) and Alladabona SSDB Sidhvik Suhas (IIT Madras zone).
