According to the police, his body was first found by his friends after which he was rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.

Following this incident, the police have initiated a probe into the matter and a case of unnatural death has been lodged.

Several cases of suicide reported in IIT

Notably, the IITs are centrally funded technical institutions located across the country and are considered to be premier institutions. Recently, there have several incidents of suicides at these institutes and in most cases, academic stress is to be blamed.

Last month, a 21-year-old student, who was identified as Anil Kumar, took his life inside his hostel room at IIT-Delhi. As per the preliminary investigations, Kumar was pursuing a B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. He was placed on an extension due to some incomplete subjects and had been staying at the hostel for the past six months.

Though the police did not recover any suicide notes in the student’s room, the reason for taking such an extreme step was suspected to be academic stress.
