New Delhi: A resurfaced video showing trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar's mother, Manorama Khedkar, threatening farmers with a gun has added fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the junior officer. The two-minute clip, recorded by a local, depicts Manorama Khedkar brandishing a pocket pistol at a man while demanding land documents.
In the video, Manorama Khedkar can be seen aggressively confronting the man, waving the gun in his face before concealing it upon noticing the camera. She is heard demanding to see the satbara (land documents) and asserting that the land belongs to her. The man responds that his name is on the documents and that the case is pending in court, prompting her to demand the court order and warn him not to "teach her the rules."

Puja Khedkar, a 2023 batch IAS officer, has been accused of falsely claiming OBC non-creamy layer status in her UPSC application. She also purported to be visually and mentally disabled but declined tests to verify these claims. Further allegations include her father, retired IAS officer Dilip Khedkar, amassing significant property, including 25 acres in Mulshi taluka, Pune district.
Locals accuse the Khedkar family of attempting to seize neighboring farmers' land. When farmers resisted, Manorama Khedkar allegedly confronted them with her security guards and a pistol. Attempts to file complaints at Pune's Paud Police Station were reportedly dismissed.
Amid the escalating controversy, Puja Khedkar has been transferred to Washim. The allegations and resurfaced video have intensified demands of accountability on her conduct and the family's activities.
