IAF Jaguar fighter jet crashes in Gujarat, one pilot killed

Gujarat: A Jaguar two-seater combat aircraft crashed while on a night mission in Gujarat's Jamnagar on Wednesday, killing one Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot and injuring another seriously. One of the pilots ejected safely and was taken to hospital for medical treatment, and the other pilot was missing earlier.

Gujarat: A Jaguar two-seater combat aircraft crashed while on a night mission in Gujarat's Jamnagar on Wednesday, killing one Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot and injuring another seriously. One of the pilots ejected safely and was taken to hospital for medical treatment, and the other pilot was missing earlier.The IAF ordered a Court of Inquiry to inquire into the crash and determine its cause. The plane crashed in an open field in Suvarda village, 12 km from the city of Jamnagar, and the plane burst into flames.

Technical Failure Led to Crash

The pilots, as per the IAF, faced a technical malfunction and ejected to avoid damage to the airfield and civilians. The IAF is sad about the loss of life and is providing condolences to the affected family. 

March incident similar

This is not the first such incident; on March 7, an IAF Jaguar fighter plane crashed off Ambala, Haryana, but the pilot ejected safely. A Court of Inquiry was established to find out the reason for that accident as well.
