New Delhi: During a public rally in Rae Bareli, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi made a poignant and emotional appeal to the audience. "My circle has been filled with your love and blessings all my life. Your love has never let me feel alone. Everything tha Iahve has been given to you. I'm handing over my son to you," she said, emphasizing her deep connection with the people of Rae Bareli. She urged them to treat Rahul Gandhi with the same affection and trust they have always shown her, assuring them that "Rahul will not let you down."

The rally held on Friday marked a significant moment as Sonia Gandhi announced Rahul Gandhi's candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli, in addition to his candidacy from Wayanad in Kerala. Joining Sonia on stage were her children, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, underscoring the united front of the Gandhi family.

She mentioned that the values imparted to Rahul and Priyanka were influenced by Indira Gandhi's teachings and the people of Rae Bareli, emphasizing respect, protection of the weak, and the relentless fight against injustice. "Do not be afraid because your roots and traditions of struggle are very strong," she encouraged.
