The violence against women has reached new heights in West Bengal. Another attack has occurred, and this time the victim is from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, as she has leveled a serious complaint against the state police. The victim declared that she has no faith in Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee or her law enforcement. The BJP leader who was attacked described her horror, claiming that she was thrashed and stripped naked. Following her Tuesday discussion with the Governor, she made this statement. Police officials claimed on Friday that a case had been filed regarding the purported event and that many suspects had also been taken into custody in relation to it.
Before this, though, Trinamool (TMC) leaders had denied the BJP's accusations about the attack on the minority politician, arguing instead that it was the product of a family quarrel. The victim's statement has now been made public. "TMC people beat me," she murmured. I was beaten and stripped. Mamata Banerjee and the police do not have my faith. I am a member of the BJP." When asked if she felt certain that she would receive justice after meeting the governor, she replied, "I have great confidence."
