Hyderabad Road Accident: A devastating incident occurred near the Shamirpet police station in Hyderabad when a young man lost his life following a failed attempt to overtake an RTC bus. This accident, which took place on the busy Karimnagar-Mehdipatnam route, underscores the dangers of overtaking on crowded roads and reflects a troubling increase in such incidents around Hyderabad.
Reports indicate that the victims, Sheikh Saklain and Mohammed Furkan, both residents of Karkhana Gadda in Karimnagar district, were travelling from Karimnagar to Mehdipatnam on a motorcycle. During their journey, they decided to overtake an RTC bus. Unfortunately, they lost control of the motorcycle, causing them to fall perilously close to the bus wheels. The tragedy escalated when Saklain, who was operating the motorcycle, was tragically crushed under the bus, resulting in his immediate death. Furkan, however, managed to escape with injuries.
A 21-second video clip, now widely circulated on social media, captures the chilling moments leading up to the accident. The footage shows the exact moment the bus runs over Saklain, who remains motionless afterward, while Furkan gets up to check on him. The bus driver can be seen stopping shortly after the accident, pulling over to the left side upon realizing the severity of the situation.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident by reviewing footage and seeking witnesses to determine the precise cause and circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Unfortunately, Hyderabad has seen a rise in similar incidents involving two-wheelers and heavy vehicles. Experts attribute this trend to increasing traffic congestion, hazardous overtaking behaviours, and a general disregard for road safety regulations.
According to traffic police, the frequency of accidents stemming from reckless overtaking and loss of vehicle control is on the rise, highlighting the urgent need for public awareness campaigns and stricter traffic enforcement measures.
