A 30-year-old woman from a village in Majhaulia, West Champaran, has complained against her husband's friend for secretly filming an indecent video of her and blackmailing her sexually. The victim has filed an FIR at the women's police station, seeking justice.
Based on the complaint, the event started about two and a half years ago when the woman was showering at her residence. Her husband's friend came into the house unawares when the bathroom door had been left open by mistake. He covertly took a video of her when she was not dressed.
When the lady became aware of his presence and approached him, he reportedly blackmailed her by threatening to upload the video. In fear of social humiliation, she was intimidated into secrecy as he proceeded to take advantage of her time and again.
On 3rd February, the suspect allegedly broke into her house once more and tried to attack her. When she tried to resist, he physically assaulted her, stole her money and mobile phone, and ran away. Prior to his departure, he is said to have made a haunting threat that he would murder her children and husband if she made any utterances about him.
The victim, not being able to tolerate the trauma anymore, lodged a police complaint. Women's Police Station in-charge Sudha Kumari has confirmed that an FIR has been filed against the accused, who is at large now. The authorities are carrying out raids to catch him. If he is not caught soon, his movable and immovable assets could be confiscated according to legal procedures.
The woman complained that, as a result of having young children, she could not resort to such extreme steps as suicide, though she has experienced tremendous agony. She claimed that the accused has ruined her life totally.
Officials are still investigating the case, while the victim demands justice and protection for her family.
