New Delhi: Extramarital affairs have become alarmingly common, but a shocking incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has taken this trend to a horrifying extreme. Santosh Yadav, a resident of Talkatora, attempted to murder his wife in a brutal act driven by his relationship with another woman.
Santosh, who works in the vehicle trade, married several years ago and led a seemingly normal life until a year ago, when he befriended a woman. As their relationship deepened, Santosh began neglecting his wife and family. When his wife discovered the affair, she confronted him, only to be met with violence. Despite her multiple complaints to the police, Santosh managed to escape punishment by apologizing and downplaying the incidents as mere family disputes.
Santosh's behavior only worsened with time. His extramarital affair continued, and he even started taking his girlfriend to hotels. When his wife objected again, Santosh reacted with extreme violence. In a fit of rage, he brutally beat her until she lost consciousness and then forced her to drink phenol in an attempt to kill her.
The situation might have turned even more tragic if not for the quick thinking of their 12-year-old daughter. She immediately informed her grandmother about the incident. The grandparents rushed to the scene and found their daughter-in-law in a critical condition. She was quickly taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Following a complaint from the victim’s mother, the police acted swiftly, arresting Santosh Yadav. It has been revealed that Santosh had previously faced legal action for disturbing the peace due to family disputes. This time, the charges are far more serious, and justice is being sought for the heinous crime.
