Outcry at Delhi Airport: More than 350 flights delayed, passengers resentment

There was a huge disruption in flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Saturday when more than 350 flights were delayed. Due to bad weather and dust storm on Friday, the operation of flights was adversely affected, causing heavy inconvenience to passengers.

National News: The flight operations came to a standstill at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Friday evening due to dust storm and rain. Due to this, hundreds of passengers were stranded for hours. There was a flood of complaints on social media regarding poor management of the airline. Passengers expressed their disappointment on social media, which cited insufficient assistance from the airline employees amid lack of information, frequent renovation and chaos. A user tagged the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Air India, "The worst management, the misinformation world class International Airport, New Delhi".

Airlines reply

Air India replied that dear we are listening to you. However, please know that flights have been affected due to adverse effects of bad weather. IndiGo also responded to his passengers and said that they are sorry for the inconvenience and they will try to provide better service.

Problems of passengers

The passengers shared their problems and said they had to wait for hours. A passenger wrote, "We have been captured by the airline". Another passenger said, "Passengers were treated worse than cattle".

Weather conditions

On Friday, Delhi-NCR led to dusty storm with strong winds and evening rains, causing widespread disruption. Many trees were uprooted throughout the area, causing traffic jam and electricity failed. India Meteorological Department recorded air speed at IGI Airport at a speed of 74 km per hour.
