A horrific crime shook Ghaziabad as a husband allegedly stabbed his wife to death over suspicions of an illicit relationship. The tragic incident took place in the Tila Mor area, where the accused attacked his wife following a heated argument. Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded, sending the victim’s body for post-mortem and taking the husband into custody for further interrogation.

Brutal attack over suspicion of infidelity

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Shehnaz, was rushed to Delhi’s GTB Hospital after sustaining severe stab wounds. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. According to police sources, the accused, Shamshad, frequently suspected his wife of being involved with another man, leading to frequent disputes between the couple. The fatal altercation on Tuesday ended in tragedy when Shamshad, in a fit of rage, attacked Shehnaz with a knife.

Police investigation underway

Shamshad resided with his family near Eidgah in Pasonda, Ghaziabad. On receiving the distressing information, police officials, including ACP Shalimar Garden Saloni Agarwal, arrived at the scene and launched an immediate investigation.

A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Shehnaz’s brother. Initial inquiries suggest that long-standing marital discord fueled by suspicions of infidelity led to the violent crime. “The couple frequently argued over Shehnaz’s alleged affair. During their latest confrontation, Shamshad lost control and stabbed her,” said ACP Agarwal.

Authorities have detained Shamshad for questioning as they work towards gathering further evidence. The case highlights the dangers of unchecked domestic disputes escalating into deadly violence.
