During the Amarnath Yatra pilgrims stay in Jammu, the All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) has provided a 30% discount on advance reservations.“As a goodwill gesture, we have decided to offer a 30% rebate to Amarnath pilgrims who make advance room reservations in hotels,” AJHLA president Pawan Gupta said. He also added that this project intends to help and aid pilgrims as they begin their annual journey to the 3,880-meter-high Amarnath cave shrine in the magnificent Himalayas of south Kashmir. The ancient 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in the Anantnag area and the 14-km shorter but more difficult Baltal route in the Ganderbal region is where the 62-day journey will start on July 1. On June 30, the first group of pilgrims will depart for the yatra from Jammu.AJHLA president Gupta expressed hope that this reduction will provide the hotel and transport sectors with a much-needed boost because he anticipates a sizable number of pilgrims visiting the cave shrine this year.Krishen Lal Gupta, an executive member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu (CCIJ), has welcomed the Amarnath yatras extension to a 62-day duration as a positive development. Some of the hotel owners and businesses, stated, “We anticipate that the prolonged duration of the Amarnath yatra would assist the hotel and commercial industries. The two-month journey is a positive step.”However, he highlighted the need of providing the pilgrims with the greatest amenities and maintaining foolproof security.Currently, a vast variety of amenities are available at more than 100 hotels and lodges in Jammu to meet the demands of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.Apart from this, the tourist agency has created packages that include trips to several temples and historical landmarks in Jammu city, as emphasised by Jammu Mayor Rajinder Sharma.
