New Delhi: In a shocking incident of gross negligence, students at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) in Sulthanpur were disgusted to discover a live rat swimming in a vessel of curry served at the canteen. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked widespread condemnation and protests among the student body.
The disturbing footage shows the live rat visibly swimming amidst the curry, prompting immediate outrage and disgust among students who witnessed the unsanitary sight during breakfast on Tuesday morning. The incident has raised serious concerns about food safety standards and hygiene practices at the university canteen.
Following the video's viral spread, students and activists associated with BRSV (Ban Rats in Student Venues) have planned protests against the university administration. Despite efforts by hostel management to address the situation and assuage student concerns, the incident has ignited demands for accountability and assurances of improved food quality standards.

The video has garnered hundreds of comments of people who condemn the low quality food served in the hostel. One user commented, "Hygiene of food in hostels is a major concern. Not that the taste is any good. If.not to save some cost, nobody would like to have food in hostel mess."
