A heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Uttar Pradeshs Hamirpur, following gang-rape in a brick factory at Ghatampur, Kanpur district, where two teenage girls committed suicide. A week later, the victims father also committed suicide, reportedly after getting threats to take back the complaint. According to the sources, the locals spoke about how the alleged factory operators were threatening the family to withdraw their complaint.The sources claim that the family from a village in the districts Sisolar police station area had gone to work in the brick factory at Ghatampur in the Kanpur, where the two girls were forced to consume alcohol and then were captured on camera while being raped. Following the incident, on February 28, the injured girls hanged themselves from a tree close to the brick factory. Meanwhile, three suspects who have been identified as Ram Swaroop, Rajju, and Sanju, were detained and sent to jail by the Ghatampur police of Kanpur as soon as the family filed a complaint. The mobile phones of the accused have been sent for forensic examination and CO Shreyas Tripathi has started the investigation into the case.
