National News: NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) has made significant changes in the 7th class social science book. Till now the chapters in which the history of the Mughals and the Delhi Sultanate was taught has been removed from the syllabus. They are now replaced by new chapters on ancient Indian dynasties, such as Maurya, Magadha, Sung and Satavahana. Apart from this, detailed information has also been given on government schemes and contemporary issues such as 'Make in India' and 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'. These changes have been made according to the new education policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023 guidelines, which have been given priority to Indian traditions and local references.

Emphasis on ancient Indian dynasties

The new book "Exploring Society: India and Beyond" now specially described ancient Indian dynasties like Maurya, Magadha, Sunga and Satavahana. The reign of these dynasties and their contribution has been given an important place, which are important chapters in Indian history. This is the purpose of making students familiar with the rich heritage of Indian history.

Religious places and pilgrimage mention

The new book includes a chapter 'How the Land Backs Sacred', which mentions the religious places and pilgrimage in India. It depicts Char Dham Yatra, 12 Jyotirlinga, Shakti Peeth and rivers confluence, mountains and forests as 'c Secard Plasses'. The book also mentions 66 crore people involved in the Mahakumbh Mela held in Prayagraj, but there is no mention of stampede and deaths there.

Constitution and history of tricolor

In this new book, special attention is also given to the importance of the Constitution and Tricolor flag of India. For example, it has been reported that Indian citizens were not allowed to hoist the national flag at their homes before 2004. Later after the Supreme Court's decision, it was recognized under the freedom of expression. Apart from this, the English book called 'Eastern' includes the compositions of 9 Indian writers out of 15 stories, including Rabindranath Thakur, A.P.J. The works of Abdul Kalam and Ruskin Bond are prominent.

Opposition accused: 'saffronisation'

Opposition leaders have strongly criticized these changes in NCERT books. He says that these changes are an attempt to promote 'saffronisation' in the Indian education system. The opposition alleges that through these changes, children can be influenced by a special religious perspective, which will promote division in society. Opposition leaders say that this is an attempt to implement the political agenda through education.

Government side: recognizing Indian culture and tradition

It has been said by NCERT and the government that these changes have been made to present Indian culture, traditions and local references properly. The government says that children are required to create respect for their history and culture, and these changes have been made under the new education policy, which aims to make Indian education more prosperous and comprehensive.

A new approach in the education system

These changes may bring a new approach to the Indian education system, but this change has not survived the controversies. Now it will be interesting to see whether these changes are successful in making students aware of their history and culture, or they become part of political ideologies.
