In Uttar Pradeshs Aligarh district, a young man named Zubair was assaulted by a group of Hindutva followers after they discovered his religious identity. According to the FIR, Zubair had come to Aligarh with his ailing mother for medical treatment. While fetching water on his mothers request, Zubair was intercepted by Ravi, Kishan, and two unidentified individuals who inquired about his name. Investigations are currently underway.Previous Incident of LynchingThis assault follows a similar incident on June 19, when a Muslim man named Mohammed Farid alias Aurangazeb was lynched by a mob on suspicion of theft in Aligarhs Mama Bhanja locality. Farid was attacked after exiting a house belonging to Mukesh Mittal.
