India News: During his Bhutan visit, he discussed connectivity and cooperation concerning the country's water projects. Himanta Biswa Sarma added, "The Bhutanese prime minister will come to Assam for a business summit. He is coming; the Bhutan king is also coming. Plans are to strengthen ties."

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's Take on Hindus Migrating from Bangladesh

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Hindus would probably not come from Bangladesh to India since the community was doing very well with their political issues. He met the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, for assistance on the safe stay of the Hindus in Bangladesh.

The political scenario in Bangladesh was pretty tense. The steps taken by Prime Minister Modi ensured that the safety of Hindus was in place, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, adding that Hindus were acting maturely. "They should not be coerced to leave and settle in India, he said.

Bangladesh is a cause for concern.

Sarma spoke of protests in Assam in response to attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Organizations like VHP and Bajrang Dal wanted shelter for Hindus from Bangladesh as well. He rejected the suggestion, saying most came here as migrants for livelihood purposes. This crisis in textiles has made people of Bangladesh come to this place. The turbulence has badly affected the textile industry in Bangladesh. Many workers are leaving for India in the hope of getting some employment; besides, a vast majority of them are not Hindus, although some groups claim so.

A Chinese dam has been proposed on the Brahmaputra River.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Chinese dam on the Brahmaputra is what to be concerned about. It will definitely change the present flow of the river. Hope the central authority will take proper steps to keep the region secure, then strengthening Relations with Bhutan
