Hemant Soren's sister-in-law Sita Soren joins BJP after resigning from JMM

Hours after resigning from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Sita Soren, the elder daughter-in-law of party chief Shibu Soren, has joined the Bhartiya Janata Party on Tuesday. 

Sita Soren was serving as a member of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Jama. She was also appointed as the National General Secretary of JMM in 2014. Sita Soren alleged that she was neglected in the party and therefore she decided to tender her resignation from the primary membership of the party. 

Sita Soren joined BJP 

Sita Soren joined the BJP in the presence of its national general secretary Vinod Tawde and Jharkhand poll in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai in New Delhi. 

Setback for JMM 

Sita's resignation is being considered a big blow for Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. After Shibu Soren, Durga Soren was considered his natural successor, but after his sudden demise, Hemant Soren came forward to take over his father's legacy. Sita Soren was the central general secretary of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and was elected MLA from Jama area of ​​Santhal Pargana.
